How do I import my contacts from a CSV, Excel file or another CRM like HubSpot?
Use the import tool in the CRM. It accepts CSV and Excel files. If you are moving from GoHighLevel, there is a separate migration tool. From any other system, such as HubSpot, export your contacts as a CSV or Excel file and import that file.
- Go to Contacts and click the Import button.
- Drop in your CSV or Excel file.
- On the mapping screen, match each column in your file to a field in Votel, such as name, email and phone. AI tries to match the columns for you and marks them as auto matched, but you can change any mapping yourself.
- Map every extra column you want to keep, such as address or booking details, to the matching field. If a field does not exist yet, create a custom field for it first, then map the column to it.
- Finish the import. Your leads come in as contacts.
If only the name and phone came over, the other columns were not mapped. Import again and map them on the mapping screen.
You can create your own pipeline with your own stages (for example New lead, Contacted, Engaged, Interested, Demo) and then use table and pipeline views, grouping and bulk actions on the imported contacts. For leads that come from an outside service, you can also connect that lead service through MCP connectors.
